Overcome Social Anxiety

Posted on February 4 2013 by Ricky World in education

Social anxiety can cause the person suffering from it to miss out on many experiences and opportunities. There may be a fear that something may go wrong while talking to someone or that people are constantly judging you. It does not have to be this way! It all starts with a choice. The choice is to do something about it, or not to do anything about it. You have to make a choice to no longer live with social anxiety.
The first step is admitting to yourself that you have a problem. When you admit to yourself that you have a problem, you can start to put things into perspective and begin to work on it. You should be the most important person in your life. Start making commitments to improve yourself and be your best so you can share your best with others. One important note; don't procrastinate. Take action today. Most of us have a bad habit of telling ourselves that we will get to something one day and that day never comes. So begin to take action.
See if you can pinpoint where your social anxiety is coming 3304 Exam Questions from. What situations make you anxious? When you answer this question, try to be a specific as you can. The more specific the better. Make a list of five things that trigger your social anxiety. Start with what makes you the most anxious to what makes you the least anxious.
Start with the bottom of the list. The last thing on the list you created should be what makes you the least anxious out of the five things you listed down. Think of something that you can do towards getting over the fear of the last thing on your list. You don't have to do anything drastic, just something very small. For example, if you have a fear of talking to people, you can start with just saying "Hello". If that is too intimidating, see if you can smile at them. If that is too much, try nodding. Try to figure out an action that you can do that you would feel comfortable doing just to get you started. When you figure out what it is, do it.
The key is not to go too far too fast. Take small steps and be willing to push yourself just a BH0-012 Exam Questions little bit outside of your comfort zone. When you are able to do that first thing towards your goal, try to figure out what else you can do to bring you closer to overcoming that fear that you have listed down and keep moving up to that next thing.
Your goal should be to take on the fears you've listed down. Start with what is on the bottom of the list and create small tasks for yourself to achieve that will bring you closer to conquering that fear. Remember, it doesn't have to be anything huge, just something that is a step towards your goal of conquering that fear.
This problem is not going to be fixed overnight. It takes less effort than you think. You just have to be willing to take those little steps towards conquering your fear. It is possible to overcome social anxiety
