Low Self esteem may seem very confusing to you at the moment, and you may feel as if no matter how much you struggle there is no way you can break out of it, but be assured that you are now on the right path to overcoming your low self esteem and regaining your confidence and your life.
One thing you MUST understand about overcoming low self esteem is that in many cases it is caused by a lack of congruence between your core beliefs as a person, and your actions in the real world. When these two do not align then there is an internal conflict. Understanding this concept will be a key step to overcoming your low self esteem.
Follow the 3 tips below to become more congruent with who you really are, and reduce the internal conflict that is draining your confidence and self esteem.
Overcoming Low 640-760 Exam Questions Self Esteem - 3 Secret Steps to Overcoming Your Low Self Esteem
1) Know who you are - Take a step back and look at yourself for a moment. Have a think about what you really value in life, what makes you excited, what you are drawn to? What traits do you value in people, honesty, integrity, confidence? What are your goals in life? Make sure that you write down what your core values actually are, not what you think they should be. This is an integral step to overcoming low self esteem and unlocking your untapped confidence, you must first know who you are.
2) Examine your life - Now, with a more solid idea of who you are, look over you life and look at where you are in alignment with your values, and where you are not. Most people, particularly those with low self esteem find a great difference between their core values, and their actions.
This difference can create internal conflict and create feelings of inadequateness, as you are not following your true values, and surrendering to outside pressures. For example, a person may wish to become a gardner, but their parents force them into becoming a doctor and whilst they have lots of money they are not following their true goal in life, resulting in internal conflict and a lack of self esteem and confidence.
3) Take action - Now that you know where your actions and your beliefs do not align there is only one thing you can do to fix this, and that is to take action! If you value honesty yet you are a frequent liar make a big effort to be more honest with everyone, if you've always dreamed of travelling to a far away land then do it!
When you take action to fix this incongruence that is when your self esteem and self image begin to improve. You are living up to your core values as a person and not being influenced others, and that is something that you can be confident about!
As you can see overcoming low self esteem is very achievable for most people, myself included, and most definitely you!
